About Martin: Biography and Healing Philosophy

In order to understand how I became a healer, it’s helpful to know a little bit about my journey as a child. I’m the second child of 8 kids and first boy in the family. I grew up in the west side of San Antonio, Texas, a place usually referred to as “el barrio,” the poor side of town. I grew up Catholic, but today consider myself more spiritual than religious.

Initial Spiritual Experiences

When I was five years old, I had my first spiritual experience. I woke up in the middle of the night to see angels hovering over my three sisters, who were sleeping in their twin bed three feet away from me. As I stared across the pitch-black room, these three glowing white energy figures with wings appeared to be praying as they hovered over my sisters. I watched for at least 10-15 seconds, amazed and bewildered by what I saw, until these angels disappeared.

My next spiritual experience occurred while attending Catechism at our local church right after school. I was nine years old and one of more than 100 kids, in addition to several nuns and teachers. I was running across the church grounds in the mid-afternoon when the sight before me made me stop. Every person on the grounds had rainbow colors surrounding their bodies. I had no idea what I was looking at, but it looked beautiful.  Another boy came up to me and I asked him, “do you see the colors?” The boy asked me what colors I was referring to. “The colors, they look like rainbows. Even you have colors all around you,” I said. But the boy replied, “I don’t see any colors.” The colors lasted for about three minutes, and then disappeared. Only 10 years later did I find out that what I had seen were auras.

Life-Changing Messages

The most profound experience that would change my life occurred when I was 17 years old. I was in the middle of a lucid dream (by then, I had learned to be aware of my dreams while I slept), when I found myself on a mountain top where a divine presence, which I considered God, showed up and told me, “you will be a healer later in life.” Before I could ask any questions, God was gone. I came out of my lucid dream amazed to have met God and thinking how cool it was to have experienced what I did. But I began to wonder, what did God mean by a healer? Was God telling me I was going to be a doctor? I remember thinking to myself, “No stinking way am I going to be a doctor. I don’t like school that much and I have no plans on going to college for all the years it takes to be a doctor.” Since God said this wouldn’t happen until later in life, I figured I’d have a good 30 to 40 years to figure this one out.

I didn’t have to wait that long, though, to receive an answer to my lingering question. I was 18 years old when, to my surprise, I heard a Catholic priest on a radio talk show program proclaiming his psychic abilities. It seemed so unusual to hear of such a thing, and especially on a radio program. To top it, he was offering on-air psychic readings for radio callers, and planned to do short readings at San Fernando Cathedral in downtown San Antonio that Saturday. I decided to attend this event, which ended up with more than 100 attendees.

I sat down in the back like a good Catholic, hoping the priest would do a reading for me. At first, he walked on the opposite side from where I was sitting, and hovered between the front and the middle part of the church, picking people at random to read. But eventually he made his way toward my side, coming within 10 feet of me. I got excited as I held my $20 donation. He got as close as 8 feet, briefly looked at me, and then started walking away. Before I had a chance to feel disappointed, the priest stopped in place and came back to me. “You are going to be a healer later in life,” he said, while looking at me. “Not like a doctor, but more of a hands-on type healer where you heal people with your hands.” I put my $20 in the donation basket and he went back to the front. As I stood there, I remember thinking, “Wow, what are the chances he would say the same thing God had told me a year earlier?” He had also answered my question as to what kind of healer I would be.

A Special Miracle

Just when I thought I had received all possible messages, I experienced one more unusual occurrence. The next day, in late afternoon, I found a $20 bill on the floor right next to my bed. I had walked in and out of my bedroom multiple times that day and had never seen it. I picked it up and asked my entire family if they had left or lost a $20 bill in my bedroom. But no one had. Plus, the odds where slim to none that it belonged to anyone because this wasn’t the kind of money we typically carried around. And, just yesterday, I had had only $30, 20 dollars of which I had given away to the priest. With no rational explanation for the $20 on my floor, I could only assume that I had received another sign from God in having my $20 returned to me.

Every one of these events played a pivotal role in my journey toward becoming a healer. They also opened the way for me to listen to my spiritual guidance and intuition, rather than dismiss it all as my imagination.

Official Training

My official training as an energy healer began in June of 2003. I studied Reconnective Healing © and became a certified healer on June 2003. In 2009, I completed advanced Pranic Healing courses. Over the years, I’ve studied other modalities of energy healing, including: Shamanic healing, Reiki, Distant healing, Quantum Touch, and much more.

Learning about healing in itself wasn't enough for me, though. With a deep passion for understanding the roots of consciousness, I embarked on intensive training with The Monroe Institute, where I completed numerous advanced classes in consciousness and deep mind-altering meditation from 2001-2012. These combined studies in healing and consciousness have positioned me to become the healer I am today.

I make a point to listen carefully to clients. Coupled with my empathic sensitivity, I am able to tune in to a client’s energy imbalance.  I work hand-in-hand with the client's receptivity to provide energetic balance and authentic healing.  I do so by combining different healing modalities and intuitive guidance to offer healing that's unique to the individual and yields the best results.

Healing Philosophy

Involving the client in the healing process is just as important as the healing modalities I use. After all, change can’t happen without the client’s participation. Unfortunately, we can be our own worst enemy, with our minds filled with doubt, fear, resistance, or mind chatter; all of which can interfere with an energy healer's work.  To address this challenge, I provide meditative music to calm my clients while working on them.  Over the years, I've found that clients have been receptive to my healing style. They've shared having had pleasant healing experiences and effective results. (see testimonials).

Like most energy healers, I believe that God, a higher source, or whatever we choose to call this energy, works through us to bring about the right amount of healing needed.

Lucid Dreaming and Spiritual Forensics

Besides energy healing, I provide “Intuitive Dream Sessions,” which I like to call “dreaming for others.”  When I was a teenager I began having lucid dreams. In these dreams, I was aware that I was dreaming and could interact with my dreams by asking questions. By 2004, I discovered I could take another person’s questions into lucid dream sessions and receive answers for them.

Before I began this work with healing and exploring consciousness, I obtained a BS degree in Computer Science, which led to a successful 33-year-long career working for a Fortune 500 Company. My last 16 years were as a Senior Cyber Security specialist. My technical background has taught me how to process information from my client and identify the best healing solution possible. I call this process my “Spiritual Forensics,” which takes into account the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. My background has prepared me well, as has my core belief that within each person lies the potential for self-healing with guidance from a compassionate and experienced healer.
